Table 250.66 sizes the grounding electrode conductor from the largest ungrounded service conductor. Copper service conductors of 2/0 or 3/0 call for a 4 AWG copper GEC.

A:8 AWG applies when the service conductors are 2 AWG or smaller.
B:6 AWG applies to 1 AWG or 1/0 service conductors.
D:2 AWG is the next row up, for service conductors over 3/0 through 350 kcmil.

Table 314.16(B) assigns each 14 AWG conductor a 2.00 cu in volume allowance. Six conductors × 2.00 = 12.0 cu in. With no clamps, devices, or grounds in the box, nothing else counts.

A:10.0 cu in only covers five 14 AWG conductors. There are six.
C:13.5 cu in uses the 2.25 cu in allowance for 12 AWG. These conductors are 14 AWG.
D:18.0 cu in would mean counting items the question says are not in the box.

A single-phase 240V circuit runs 100 ft on 12 AWG copper (6,530 cmil) carrying 16 A. Using Vd = (2 × K × I × L) / cmil with K = 12.9, what is the approximate round-trip voltage drop?

Vd = (2 × 12.9 × 16 × 100) / 6,530 = 6.3 V. That is about 2.6% on a 240V circuit, inside the 3% branch-circuit target the NEC suggests in an informational note. The cmil value comes from Chapter 9 Table 8.

Why the other answers look right
A:3.2 V drops the doubling factor and only counts one leg of the run.
C:9.5 V would take roughly a 150 ft run at this load, not 100 ft.
D:12.6 V doubles the correct answer. Check the setup, not the arithmetic.
What good Michigan test questions have in common
The Michigan exam is open book, so a question that only checks whether you memorized a number is training the wrong skill. The four samples above each force a decision first: which article controls, which table applies, which inputs go in the formula. On the real exam the trap answer usually comes from a neighboring rule, a neighboring table row, or a dropped factor. That is why every question here explains the wrong answers, not just the right one.
