Terms of service.

By using JourneymanIQ — taking a diagnostic, creating an account, paying for a subscription — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

JourneymanIQ is exam preparation software for the Texas Journeyman Electrician licensing exam (TDLR). We offer diagnostics, practice questions, and study tools. We may add other states or trades over time.

JourneymanIQ is exam prep. It is not:

• A substitute for the official National Electrical Code publication
• Legal or professional advice
• Code consultation or engineering guidance
• An official TDLR study resource

Always verify code requirements against the current NEC publication before applying them on a job. Our content is prepared in good faith but may contain errors. We update it as the NEC changes; you should too.

JourneymanIQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by:

• TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation)
• NFPA (National Fire Protection Association, publisher of the NEC)
• Any state, federal, or local licensing board

NEC and National Electrical Code are registered trademarks of NFPA. We use them under fair use to describe what we teach.

When you sign up:

• Use accurate information
• Keep your password secure
• One account per person — no shared logins
• Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access

You're responsible for activity on your account.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or republish our content
• Resell access to your account
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our question bank
• Use the service to harass, deceive, or harm others
• Interfere with the operation of the service — rate-limit abuse, security probing without permission, etc.

We may suspend accounts that violate this section.

• The platform, its design, code, and content are owned by JourneymanIQ or licensed to us
• We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your personal exam preparation
• You own the data you put into your account (your answers, notes, settings)

JourneymanIQ is provided "as is." We don't promise:

• That you'll pass the TDLR exam — your effort and the actual test determine that
• That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• That every question or explanation is perfect. We'll fix issues you report.

Pass rates depend on individual study habits, prior experience, and the specific test version you sit for. Our diagnostic predicts where you stand based on a 15-question sample; the real exam is 85 questions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JourneymanIQ's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages — including lost time, lost wages, or exam fees if you don't pass.

• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms
• You may delete your account at any time
• After termination, sections 7 (IP), 8 (disclaimers), 9 (liability), and 11 (governing law) survive

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

If we change these terms materially, we'll notify users by email. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated terms.
