How much does the Texas journeyman electrician exam cost?

The TDLR Journeyman exam fee is $78 and it covers both portions, the NEC Knowledge part and the Calculations part. A retake is also $78 if you fail one or both parts. The initial license application is mailed in with a $30 fee, and the license renews for $30 a year after that.

$78 covers both portions

The single $78 fee gets you the NEC Knowledge part and the Calculations part. You do not pay separately per part.

Retake is $78

If you fail one or both parts, the retake fee is $78 again. You do not re-apply for the license, eligibility carries forward.

$30 application and renewal

The initial license application is mailed in with a $30 fee. After that the license renews for $30 a year with 4 hours of continuing education.

Bottom line

$78 exam covering both parts, $78 retake, $30 to apply and to renew each year.
