Washington Journeyman Electrician Practice Test 2026
A useful practice test does not just count right answers. It shows whether you can pick the right 2020 NEC article, set up the calculation, and answer the Washington laws and rules the way PSI puts them in front of you under the clock.

A Washington 01 practice test has to cover both sections
The general journeyman (01) exam is two scored sections, and you have to pass each one on its own at 70%. A practice test that only drills NEC trivia leaves you blind on the half of the test that fails the most people: the Washington laws and rules. A good test rehearses both.
- NEC and theory (60 questions, 3 hours): grounding and bonding, box and conduit fill, voltage drop, motor and feeder sizing, and dwelling load, all to the 2020 NEC.
- Washington laws and rules (17 questions, 1 hour): RCW 19.28 and WAC 296-46B, covering licensing scopes, permits and inspection, supervision ratios, and renewal.
- Code navigation: landing on the right article fast, the skill an open-book exam rewards.
The practice-test trap
Most guys search for a giant bank of questions. That sounds right. The better move is a diagnostic first. If your NEC theory is solid but the Washington laws and rules are bleeding points, 200 more random questions waste your nights. You need the weak section first.
How JourneymanIQ uses the first test
- Run the free diagnostic across both sections the Washington 01 exam tests.
- See your projected score per section and the topics behind the misses.
- Drill the weak section first instead of grinding everything evenly.
