What a California practice test has to cover

The General Electrician outline is lopsided. Installation is the biggest section by far, with calculations second. A balanced quiz can make you feel ready while avoiding the two areas that decide the score.

  • Installation: about 66% of the exam.
  • Determination of Electrical System Requirements: about 22% of the exam.
  • Safety: about 6% of the exam.
  • Maintenance and Repair: about 6% of the exam.

The practice-test trap

Most guys search for a giant bank of questions. That sounds right. The better move is a diagnostic first. If grounding is solid and motor calculations are bleeding points, 200 more random questions waste time. You need the weak area first.

How JourneymanIQ uses the first test

  1. Run the diagnostic across the California domains.
  2. Show the low domains and the rule families behind the misses.
  3. Send you into practice questions, drills, or the 30-day plan based on the score.
